Basic Bible Layout

So this may be a more basic blog to some but maybe not. Its a quick break down of the bible itself. The bible starts with Gensis and ends with Revelations. In total, there are 66 books of the bible. The bible took over 1,600 years to write and roughly 40 men were told by God what to write.

The first 39 books of the bible are called the Old Testament while the remaining 27 are called the New Testament. There are a lot of differences between the old and new testaments. The biggest one, that I was always taught, was in the Old Testament. The people were taught that Jesus was coming to die on the cross for our sins whereas in the New Testament, Jesus has come and died for ours sins.

Each book in the bible is broken down into chapters and verses. The biggest thing to remember about the bible...it's God's Word and life's best advise and wisdom comes from it.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."Hebrews 4:12 KJV

So there you have it. A basic bible layout to help you study what's your favorite book or verse in the bible. Let us know what your favorite book/verse is. We would love to hear back from our readers!
