Christians in Sports Part 2

Usain Bolt, known as the fastest man alive, is devoted to God. He has been seen pointing to the sky after races which is his sign to give thanks to God. [Reference]

"I want to thank GOD for everything he has done for me cause without him none of this wouldn’t be possible." - Usain Bolt, twitter

Bubba Watson, one of the PGA Tours most famous golfers, is also a christian. On his Twitter page, he has it listed as "Christian, Husband, Daddy, Pro Golfer." He and other golfers would get together before tournaments and have Bible studies, so he could stay close to God. He also tells people that try and put him down that "Jesus loves you."

"For me it's a way to get back connected with the Bible and with God and Jesus. Now you know other people you can talk to, ask questions to, tell them what you're thinking, tell them what's going on in your life. Getting more in the Word and realizing that golf is just an avenue for Jesus to use me to reach as many people as I can." -Bubba Watson [Reference]

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks Quarterback, had a dream when he was 14, that his father had passed away and was told by Jesus that he needed to seek Him. That Sunday, he went to church and that's when he was saved. Wilson gives thanks to God whenever he has the chance for his athletic ability. “No one can stop what God has for you."

“I had a dream that my dad passed away and that Jesus came into the room and he was basically knocking on my door saying ‘hey you need to find out more about me.’ So that Sunday morning I end up going to church and that’s when I got saved. It was that moment, when I realized dreams were really real, because my dad ended up passing away six years later. I think that got me through a lot of adversity. I used to beat up kids and fight kids and do stuff all the time, but I realized God had given me so much, so many talents. I want to give Him all the glory.”  -Russell Wilson [Reference]
