One Simple Word

A lot of people know the story about a man who died on the cross to save all humanity. Jesus gave his life so that we may enter the gates of Heaven and walk with our God once again. Let us really take a moment to think about this...one man...saved the lives of billions. Why? The answer is simply one word...Love. He lived a sinless life knowing where his path was going to end. Knowing the pain that was to come and still continued on that very path. That's something no other human being has ever achieved and I personally can't thank Jesus and our Father enough. It physically brings me to tears knowing this man loved me so much that he laid his life down so that I can be freed from sin and live for eternity with my Heavenly Father.

Now, imagine the sadness God must have been in during this moment in time. Watching as his son was beaten, tortured, and hung on a cross to die. Could you watch your child go through this? I couldn't! My son is my world! He is everything to me! I couldn't bear to see him go through something like this and not do everything in my power to stop it from happening. God has the power and could have instantly stopped this all BUT he knew it had to be done. Jesus and God knew this must be done in order to save us! This begs the question, "What on earth did we do to deserve this love God and Jesus have for us?" Before I answer that, please take a moment and listen to this song called Restless Love by Cory Asbury

Now, the answer to the question above...is nothing. We did not earn this, we did not deserve this. They did all this because they love us. That's it!

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

Jesus has done the hard labor already for us. Through Jesus and his sacrifice, we now have the armor of God and a sword, the Word of God, the Bible. Sin no longer has the power over us like it use to. We are forgiven and we can now fight back. Fight with all you have and live the life God has intended you to live. A life full of Love, a Restless Love. A life void of hate, selfishness, greed, pride and lust. Open your heart and let Jesus in. Take a moment here and now to tell him Thank You for his Love and for giving his life for yours. Spread the message of Jesus and his sacrifice. Develop that relationship with God and his son, because I kid you not, you will be filled with Joy. The more you develop that relationship, the more you follow the Word of God, the more Love and Joy you will have. I encourage you to find a church that will help you discover Jesus and to help grow that loving relationship.

I will leave you with this story. A while back, I watched a video where a man was speaking of his near death experience. He was standing in the hospital room, watching as the nurses and doctors were trying to save his life. A powerful light enters the room from behind him and a voice tells him not to turn around for he would not be able to return to his body by doing so (see Exodus 33:20). God was standing behind this man and having a one-on-one conversation with him. At the end, God asked the man if he had any other questions for him. The man replied "What is the meaning of life?" God's response was one simple word, Love.
