Everyone has something that tempts them. Adam and Even had the forbidden fruit, the apple. Temptation is different for everyone. It could be a job, car, house, even a person that tempts you. Money is another big temptation of people. I know for me money has tempted me before. This could be in the form of a job that pays more. People can tempt us by having us do things we normally wouldn’t do. It could be something we know is wrong but this friend or acquaintance or whoever they are cause us to throw caution to the wind and perform this action. The best way to avoid temptation is to pray and there are plenty of Bible verses that talk about temptation. I have heard people state that God is the one tempting this. This is statement is so far from the truth. God doesn’t tempt us. Temptation is Satan’s doing. Think back to Adam and Eve and the Apple. The snake was Satan and he’s the one who tempted Eve to eat the apple. Same thing applies to our lives and the temptations we face. It is Satan who is presenting these temptations to us. We need to stand strong and pray to God to help us resist and fight these temptations.
“When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;  but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.” James 1:13-18
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”1 Corinthians 10:13
“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.” -1 Timothy 6:9
