Studying the Word of God

Everything we do takes practice and studying. We had to practice and study to pass our classes in school. We practiced and studied driving a car and the rules of the road to get our license. Football players study game tape and playbooks to be the best player they can be and to prepare for their opponent. We all had to practice and study job interview skills to get jobs. Lately, I have been engaging in mock interviews and getting feedback from supervisors to help improve my skills.
The same came be said about our faith and the word of God. We need to practice and study the word of God in order to get closer and to share the word with others. This blog, my Bible lessons, and using Bible apps have helped improve my relationship with God. Not only does it bring us closer to God but it prepares us for the opponent as well. Our opponent is sin and the temptation that everyday life throws at you. The word of God is our armor and shield.  With the armor and shield, and plenty of practice, you'll be able to withstand anything that crosses your path.
“But the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word that was preached to you.” - 1 Peter 1:25
“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” - 1 Thessalonians 2:13

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” - Colossians 3:16
What are some other ways that you find draws you closer to God? How often do you study the word of God? Message us in the comments below! We Love hearing from our readers!
