Who is God?

We have all read about the wonderful things God has created and done. We all have testimonies about the great things God has done for us. God has blessed me with a great company to work for and room to grow within the company. God has healed my mom from a serious disease she had my junior year of high school. I want to take a closer look and let us all get to know God better.
God is the creator. We see this in Genesis chapter one verse one: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  God created man and woman as well. God is also a selfless person. So many people can be selfish and only think of themselves. We have all been guilty of this at one time or another. God has always been selfless. John 3:16 shows this. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not parish but have eternal life.” This is the ultimate selfless act. God gave his only son for you and me! How many other people do you know that would do this?
God doesn’t break his promises. Think about all the people you know and how many times you have had a promise broken by them. God keeps his word to us.  Numbers 23:19 states, "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”’
God is forgiving. Think of all the things you have done right and wrong. How many people do you know that would forgive you of all your wrong doings? I’ve had family and friends do things wrong and I do my best to forgive them. I’ve also lost family and friends because of things that have happened. I have family members right now I don’t get to see or speak too because of them not forgiving the things that have occurred in the past. God is the opposite of this. As long as we ask and sincerely mean it, God is forgiving. Psalm 116:5 “The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.”

When you think of God, what things come to your mind? I’m glad to serve a loving, caring, compassionate God who I know has my best interest in mind in everything I do.

  1. Who is God? It could take an eternity to answer that question, if we could. Words, thoughts, prayers, our most sublime meditations can only skirt the reality of the Father. However, in His infinite love for us he provides what each of us need given our current place and time in the world to come to know Him. And when we reach that blessed state, we will look back and smile seeing the impossibility of the puny works of man and rejoicing in the unimaginable glory of our loving creator. How wonderful for us that He loves us beyond, beyond...
