Rest

Today, I finished my second Master’s Degree Class. It was a great feeling and I now have some time to rest and relax before my next class. This got me thinking about rest and relaxation. What does the Bible say about it?  We are a society that is always on the go, whether it’s working, taking our kids to dance lessons, sports games, etc. We are on the go so much we have to drink coffee, caffeine, energy drinks, etc. Some of us don’t get much sleep either.
The human body needs rest and relaxation. God wants us to take time to ourselves and get some much needed/deserved rest and relaxation. Here are some of my favorite Bible verses about rest.  In today’s society, please take time to just rest and relax. You will feel energized and better. I know I will be resting and relaxing until I start my next class!
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30
"By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."Genesis 2:2-3
"Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” - Mark 6:31
