Building on a Rock Foundation

     I remember a song, from when I was younger going to Sunday school about the wise man building his house upon the rock and the foolishman building his house upon the sand. This verse is talking about our spiritual life. When we build our life with God as our foundation by praying, reading our Bible, and going to church...we will have a strong foundation in Christ and He will be there for us, no matter the situation. We learn to lean on him and to trust His wisdom.

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock" - Matthew 7:24

     In contrast, the foolish man builds his house upon the sand. To me, this translates to people who focus on Worldly things that can break, rust, and lose value; anything you can't take with you once you have passed away. 

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do no destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." - Matthew 6:19-20
